Dowd Chute Rafting
Adventure Overview
This is it, a pure whitewater adventure in the heart of Vail Valley, and an early-season favorite of our guides. If you’re looking for whitewater because you crave a challenge, this is your trip. A seasonal adventure that wows! Dowd Chute, a Class IV+ section of the Eagle River, features continuous rapids along this high-altitude, alpine river. The narrow Dowd Chute Rapid extends nearly a quarter of a mile and offers a thrilling elevation drop, so get ready to paddle.
This is an action-packed adventure only ten minutes away from Vail and Beaver Creek. Dowd Chute is a a local favorite and the home stretch of the GoPro Summer Games– a must-do for any whitewater enthusiast and adventurer. Because this is a physically challenging section, we recommend previous rafting experience. The Eagle has a limited season (May – early July), so don’t miss out!
