The Numbers Full day offers the adventurer a day of constant challenging whitewater within Granite Gorge and the Numbers sections (Class IV+) of the Arkansas River. This section is continuous action filled with pour-overs and steep drops. During the Spring run off (Late May to Late June) the Pine Creek Rapid and Granite Gorge gets closed due to high water advisories so we opt for the exhilarating section below the numbers called the Fractions with notable rapids such as House Rock and Frog Rock. Just before reaching the take out we’ll surf the play wave/hole features right in downtown Buena Vista. During the months of July and August when the Spring floods have subsided we move back up to the Granite Gorge section. The Gorge offers similar rapids found in the numbers like Maytag and Triple Drop (aka Three Sisters) and the most famous, Pine Creek Rapid. Pine Creek Rapid (V) is optional for the class IV guests. Guides will assess each crew to determine whether they are up for the challenge. Guests always have the option to bypass Pine Creek Rapid and continue their full day experience. Rapids and sections run are at the discretion of Lakota Guides and AHRA.
For the physically fit and experienced rafters.
