Shoshone Rafting Trip – Glenwood
Adventure Overview
This trip is located approximately 45 minutes to the west of Vail at our boathouse in the charming historical town of Glenwood Springs. Heading west on I-70 from Eagle-Vail, you’ll enjoy a spectacular drive where you can marvel at the stunning rock formations carved by the Colorado River over millions of years.
Hold onto your paddles and brace for an adrenaline-soaked ride! This River adventure kicks off from the heart of Glenwood Springs. Make your way to our Glenwood office approximately 50 minutes west of Vail / Beaver creek. But this isn’t your run-of-the-mill float trip; oh no, my friend! We’re diving headfirst into the Colorado River Shoshone rapids, and let me tell you, they’re the stuff of legends.
Picture this: spectacular Glenwood Canyon, where the river churns and twists, carving its way through ancient rock formations. Shoshone Rapids are like a wild roller coaster ride—two miles of heart-pounding, excitement. But fear not! These rapids are like that cool cousin who’s thrilling but not downright terrifying. We’re talking Class III rapids, which means they’ll give you a rush without turning your hair gray!
As you launch into the frothy fray, it’s not just about paddling—it’s about immersing yourself in nature’s grandeur. The canyon walls tower above, their rugged faces echoing with the laughter of past adventurers. And when the sun cranks up the heat, guess what? The river becomes your personal oasis. Swim, splash, and cool off—the water’s just right.
Now, here’s the kicker: everyone’s invited! Families, thrill-seekers, and even those who’ve never held a paddle—this is your chance. And hey, if you’re a pint-sized rafter, no worries! The minimum age varies depending on water levels, but even the littlest daredevils can hop aboard after the first 20 minutes. So grab your sense of adventure, slap on some sunscreen, and let’s ride those rapids like there’s no tomorrow!
