Dowd Chute Rafting (May -> Early July) – Vail Area
Adventure Overview
This is it, a pure whitewater adventure in the heart of Vail Valley, and an early-season favorite of our guides! If you’re looking for whitewater because you crave a challenge, this is your trip. Dowd Chute, a Class IV+ (V) section of the Eagle River, features continuous rapids along this high-altitude, alpine river. The narrow Dowd Chute Rapid extends nearly a quarter of a mile and offers a thrilling elevation drop, so get ready to paddle.
This is an action-packed adventure only ten minutes away from Vail and Beaver Creek. Because this is a physically challenging section, we highly recommend previous rafting experience. The Eagle has a limited season (May through Early July), so don’t miss out!
